Sometime in the 60s, while at summer camp, a counsellor loaned me a book of poetry to read. I sat on the steps of the office, and devoured as much as I could each chance I got.

Back home, I went in search of the book at the local library. To no avail. It wasn't to be found. A librarian introduced me to a service called "inter-loan" whereby a request is made and if found and the holder is part of the inter-loan program, it can be borrowed. It took about three years but alas, I was contacted by my local library that a library in Montreal had been able to fulfill my request from a private source. I had a three week loan, non-renewable.

I knew I wanted more than three weeks to read the poems and so I started typing. One poem at a time. One sheet of paper at a time. On a non-electric typewriter. Where there was no auto-correct or spell check. I couldn't make mistakes. The clock was ticking. I finished, just in time to return the book.

I now want to share these valued words of contentment with you. Enjoy.
