It was the night before New Year's
But I could not sleep.
For noises could be heard
that would make one weep.
Down the hall came crying
and patter of feet.
Baby sounds sure can be really neat.
Cross the courtyard could be heard
Rattles of dishes, oh, my word!
Above, came the sounds of TV and other
-- never mind -- that would shock
you and your mother :)
Up through the pipes without warning it came
Burps, bangs and rattle of heat not in need.
But delivered just the same.
It's now only quarter to two --
Come morning, oh my, my mood
sure will be blue!
To all who live in the Manor,
Here's to another year of all
that glamour.
