Fran Turchi

I dream as I'm mopping the kitchen floor,
Of the things I would like to do before
I grow too old, too tired, too frail,
I dream as I empty the diaper pail.

I dream as I wash pen marks off the wall;
Perhaps the South Seas, Japan in the Fall
Paris for shopping, the Swiss Alps to ski!
(Tuesday: Bake cake for the PTA Tea.)

I dream as I'm pushing my shopping car;
I'll find my real talent in music or art;
I'll try golf or tennis one of these days,
(Today it's the Snack Shack – Little League plays.)

I'll go all those places, do all those things,
Children grow up go off, try their wings.
Then I'll be free. See the world! Fly the coop!
With friends at the Senior Citizen's group.
