So let the verdant presence of the spruce
Become the Christmas symbol, tall and plain.
And let these gifts of forest introduce
The loveliness of Christmas once again,
In cities better noted for their spires
And traffic that is streaming to and fro…
A billion billion wonders wrought with wires,
And children's songs of reindeer and the snow.

And throngs survey the trees from all
the angles
To deal their praise in regions near and far.
Yet, make this Christmas brighter than
the Christmas Star.

And let the hope for Peace resplend
more bright
Than all the trees – transfigured by the light.
