A chance to learn to swim, to discover
that you do not sink down to the bottom "floor".
A chance to learn to be alone
and yet be in a crowd.
A chance to make the critics' list
with a pallet of red and green.
A chance to share the eerie feeling
of hearing the boogie-man's tread.
And a chance to make a lasting friend
when summer came to an end.
But most of all, a chance to build the memories for tomorrow.
Of the great times spent at summer camp.
