I Found A Penny

I found a penny on the floor
and I wished it was a whole lot more.
I saw a lone bird up in the air
and I wished that others were also there.

I smelled a rose's heavenly scent
and I wished for picking it was meant
and passed it up for one less bent.

The penny is gone,
The bird flew on.
The rose soon faded --
And I stood, still wishing.
